Surface Pro 4 users that are seeing a screen flicker must first install the latest Surface and Windows updates to ensure that this isn't the cause of the flickering, Microsoft said. "We have heard your feedback and after careful examination, have determined that a small percentage of Surface Pro 4 devices are exhibiting a screen flicker that cannot be addressed with a firmware or driver update." The latest generation, simply known as the Surface Pro, came out last year. The Surface Pro 4 is the previous generation of Microsoft's productivity-focused tablet lineup, initially released in late 2015. Microsoft said it will make replacements for flickering Surface Pro 4 tablets for free, at any time within three years of the device purchase date. The Redmond, Wash.-based company said that it will replace "eligible" Surface Pro 4 devices that are experiencing flickering on their display.
